How we work

We perform robust screening of the potential oil and gas basins and projects in North America on a constant basis. Our long term industry experience and our unique group of limited partners both provide us a proprietary investment ideas.

Upon the completion of the technical and economic assessment we invest in the most attractive projects acquiring the ownership either directly from mineral owners or via farm-in or equity investment.

Our concept of derisking is based on phase approach with multiple decision gates and exit points. We begin drilling with pilot program to prove the geological concept.

Upon proving the geological concept we proceed to appraisal drilling with an idea to prove commerciality of future production.

Our goal is to achieve positive cash flow, book the reserves and monitor production to gather enough data to make a decision about full field development.

Upon completion of our derisking program we analyze the options to either monetize the asset or proceed to full field development stage.

Land Aquisition

via farm-in or leasing directly from the mineral owners
Step 3

Pilot Drilling

of 2-3 wells (depending on block size) to prove geological concept
Step 4

Appraisal Drilling

of 5-6 wells (depending on block size) to prove commerciality of future production

werrus Current operations

We've established a presence in top tier liquid rich plays in the U.S. and Canada, both onshore and offshore, where we are drilling and completing exploration of development wells.

Werrus is also one of the major investors in a salt water disposal business in the Appalachian basin where we are expanding our footprint through the addition of new facilities and disposal wells.

Current Operating Area

Gulf of Mexico Shelf

Werrus owns exploration and development rights in two blocks located in the Gulf of Mexico shelf. This project provides low-cost, low-risk opportunities with additional exploration upside close to existing infastructure.

Saltwater Disposal

Werrus is an investor in the service company focused on salt water disposal in Ohio. The rise of Utica and Marcellus gas plays created the need for disposal of water produced along with hydrocarbons as well as technical water used in drilling and frack operations. The company's disposal facilities are favorably located in close proximity to the core of the Utica and Marcellus shales. Current disposal capacity is 9,000 bbl/d.

Montney Shale

Werrus invested in a private oil and gas operating company that is focused on the development of the liquid rich Montney shale and Duvernay gas shale in British Columbia, Canada. Current production is 2,150 boe/d, 67% liquids.

EOR, Montana

Werrus is an investor in a local operator focused on development of a mature oilfield with a significant amount of remaining reserves through application of immiscible gas injection.

Austin Chalk

Werrus formed a joint venture with a local private operating company to reinvigorate production from the Austin Chalk formation in the Giddings field (Texas, USA).
